Thank you for considering a donation to our 2025 In Person Craft Auction. By donating a piece that represents your best work as an artist, you contribute to our mission and future. Our auction helps support programs, equip our studios, and care for our beautiful campus.
This year, our In Person Craft Auction will take place on Saturday, November 8 rom 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. From 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., we’ll host a viewing of the items, and bidding will begin at 2 p.m. This is a free event. Our live auction features work made the night before at our Forge After Dark event from regional blacksmiths, along with other donated artwork.
After careful consideration, we will be pausing our Online Auction in 2025. We’ll miss this special event and the ability it gives us to share our artists’ work with a broader audience. We’re excited to put all our energy into making our centennial celebrations, beginning this year, something unforgettable!
It is wonderful if auction items incorporate or celebrate our history or this milestone, but it is not required.
Please fill out the following form here with more information about your item: https://forms.office.com/r/38meJZhdnN. Items submitted without a form may not be featured or may be used in a subsequent auction. If you are having trouble filling out your form, please contact 828-837-2775 ext. 139 or giving@folkschool.org.
To donate an item, please mail (Attn: Development, JCCFS, 1 Folk School Rd., Brasstown, NC 28902) or deliver your gift to our Development office in Keith House by Monday, September 15.
Items received after Monday, September 15 may not be featured or may be used in a subsequent auction. This deadline ensures we can capture item photography and promote your piece in auction marketing materials.
Yes! We will notify you prior to the event if you can expect to see your item.
If an item doesn’t sell at auction, we may offer it at a subsequent auction, place it in housing or elsewhere on campus, offer it back to you, or pass it on to another area non-profit for their fundraising purposes. Please note special requests for your item on the donation form.
To keep the bidding process lively, items sold at auction do not typically have set reserve prices, unless specifically noted. We work with our auctioneer based off the details artists provide, and they determine an appropriate starting bid based off our audience.
Yes! If you have any questions about who purchased your item, you can reach out to us at giving@folkschool.org.
As a thank you for donating to our auction, we are offering artists a complimentary space in our Fireside Sale event, taking place Saturday, December 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (please note interest on item form). We recognize donors on our website and promote their work across our social media platforms and email newsletters. Our auction is our largest fundraising event of the year, and we appreciate your participation and support of our mission more than we can express!
If you have an idea for an item you would like to donate that falls outside of these ranges, please contact us and we’re happy to work with you.
