We ask you to contribute whatever you can to the Folk School because tuition and fees do not cover the total cost of providing classes, room and board. Without your generous gifts, we would need to raise tuition, increase class sizes or cut down on yearly improvements to studios, housing and grounds. Your support helps make the Folk School and our community a stronger and more beautiful place to live, learn and work.
We also come to you when there are special, one-time needs, such as the Forging the Future Capital Campaign. Wonderful student houses and updated studios, like the Clay Spencer Blacksmith Shop and the Hill House, would not get built without your participation in these one-time fundraising campaigns. It has always been so: in the early years of the school, founder and director Olive Dame Campbell wrote in her newsletter, “For any assistance you can give us we will be most grateful. We exist only through the interest and help of our friends.”
