Rodney Hopkins
Woodcarving
Rodney Hopkins was a young boy when his granddad gave him his first knife, along with a sharpening lesson, on his farm in the mountains of Virginia. Since then, Rodney has continued to learn through experimentation, books, talks with "old timers," and playing around with knives and wood. He currently lives in the mountains of western NC, and occasionally teaches classes and workshops for folks of all ages. He spends his time carving spoons, bowls, figures, chairs, sculpture, furniture, and anything else that comes to mind.
