We are mourning the loss of our dear friend, Charley Orlando. Charley was a devoted folkschooler – instructor, student, board member, supporter, blacksmith, knitter, tin can artist, fiddle player, spinner, expert scrabble player, and so much more. He touched the lives of so many of us. He will be greatly missed.

Read a lovely tribute written by friend: Fran Jurga

Charley wrote a wonderful memoir, Life Has Been Good, which can be purchased on Amazon. In the intro, he calls it “an autobiography written to chronicle the life of an ordinary citizen.”

As I look around my house I see things that Charley made or that he taught me to make. Good bye Charley. I will miss you but never, ever forget you, or forgot all the things you taught me. You made the world a better place.

    good
