The Olive Dame Campbell Society was established to honor all those who have the foresight to follow in the footsteps of Mrs. Campbell and the original Brasstown founders by leaving a legacy for the Folk School. Planned gifts ensure the School will continue to inspire creativity, nurture community and care for the land well into the future.
Membership in the Olive Dame Campbell Society is a special recognition apart from the Friends of the Folk School and other ways of giving. Society members are those donors whose foresight has led them to make provisions for the school in their estate plans. Individuals will be welcomed as Society members when they inform the Development Office that they have remembered the Folk School with a bequest or other planned gift.
There are many ways to make a planned gift and you do not need a fortune to make a big difference.
HOW TO REMEMBER THE FOLK SCHOOL IN YOUR WILL:
• A specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate
• Certain securities you choose, or other property such as real estate
• A residuary bequest of all or a part of your estate that remains after the payment of specific bequests to others
You may want to share the following wording with your attorney for inclusion in your will or trust:
“I give and bequeath the sum of $____
(or ___ % of my estate, or ___ shares of X corporation) to the John C. Campbell Folk School, One Folk School Road, Brasstown, NC 28902 to be used for its general purposes.”
Please contact Development Manager Reed Caldwell at 828.837.2775 for more information or to discuss a planned gift.
