For forty-five years, Annie Cicale has worked as a visual artist, producing a large volume of work. This book is a collection of some of that work, with background information on historical figures who have influenced her, as well as many contemporary artists who continue to inspire. Her media has included drawing and painting, as well as printmaking and artist’s books. She has focused on the lettering arts, doing professional calligraphy, and she has incorporated texts in much of her work. The imagery ranges from abstraction to portraits and botanical illustration. The book could be called an Art-O-Biography, as she incudes details from her life that have influenced her work. Her first lettering book, The Art & Craft of Hand Lettering, is in its fifth printing. This book is not a sequel; it’s more of a companion that show the wide range of possibility she has worked with over may years.
