Inspired by Tradition: Kente Cloth Weaving
October 21-26, 2012 (Sunday-Friday Session)
Instructor: Linda Weghorst
Tuition: $508.00
Working on a floor loom, make vibrant strips of cloth using Kente (Akan) traditions as inspiration. Gain
an introduction to basic techniques of plain weave, basket weave, and supplemental wefts (inlay) as you create stripes, checkerboards, figurative designs, and tapestry patterns to combine into vividly-colored strips. Finishing and using this remarkable cloth will be covered. All levels welcome.
