The “Campbellin”— Make It and Play It
Music, Woodworking
August 30-September 5, 2009
Instructor: John Huron
Tuition: $512.00
Construct a contemporary Southern mountain string instrument designed especially for the Folk School by the instructor. Beginning with pre-cut pieces of native hardwoods, create a beautiful instrument with three strings, a diatonic (dulcimer) fret pattern, and a high, sweet sound. Also learn basic tuning, strumming, and how to pick out some simple tunes by ear and with tablature. No prior woodworking or musical training required.
