Work Study

Watering the Folk School's garden
Work Study Students live as a group at the Folk School for nine weeks. During the nine-week session they work five of the weeks and take weeklong classes for four of the weeks. They are also eligible for weekend classes on a space-available basis. Work Studies receive room and board during their stay and have access to the full range of classes listed in the catalog with tuition covered (note: materials fees are specific to each class and are the responsibility of the student).

Most Work Studys work outdoors on the gardens and grounds as part of the Garden Crew, but there are other duties which may include weekends. Garden Crew participants must be in good physical condition and be able to perform occasional strenuous tasks in a variety of weather conditions.

Occasionally, Work Study students perform focused work to benefit the school or the campus. This page will be updated with future special project Work Study positions.

2021 Work Study Sessions

The dates and application for the 2021 Work Study sessions will be posted in early February.
