Work Study and Student Host Program Information and Applications
WORK STUDY STUDENTS
Watering the Folk School's garden
Work Study Students live as a group at the Folk School for nine weeks. During this time they work six of the weeks and take Folk School classes for three of the weeks. The work is mostly outdoors on the gardens and grounds, but there are other duties as well which may include weekends. Work Study Students must be in good physical condition and be able to do sometimes strenuous labor in all kinds of weather conditions.
2017 Work-Study Sessions:
Session 1: Jan 8 - Mar 11
Session 2: Mar 12 - May 13
Session 3: May 14 - July 15
Session 4: July 16 - Sept 16
Session 5: Sept 17 - Nov 18
The number of work study positions is limited. Please note that applicants not accepted into a session may be invited to reapply for a subsequent session. Applicants are generally selected and notified about four months before each session starts. Application fee is good for one year.

A former host practices woodturning at the Folk School
Student Hosts live at the Folk School for a four month period, and are responsible for making sure that students have a good experience. In exchange, Student Hosts may take one class each week. Click here to read the complete Student Host Job Description.
