Help alleviate hunger in our community by joining us for our annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for Cherokee and Clay County food banks.
Beginning at 4 p.m. in the Keith House, ticket holders will select a handcrafted bowl from an assortment made by local potters. The selections are first come, first served. A Brown Bag Raffle, from 4-7 p.m. will feature finely crafted ceramic items donated by local and regional potters. Students from the Junior Appalachian Musicians will play traditional old-time music.
At 5 p.m., guests will gather in the Olive Dame Campbell Dining Hall for a delicious meal of soup, bread, salad, and dessert prepared by the Folk School's dining hall staff.
Additional bowls will be available for purchase at the event.
Empty Bowl tickets are sold out, but if you are interested in contributing to this event, please contact Josh Floyd, Event and Volunteer Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828-837-2775.
All proceeds will go to the Clay County Food Bank and the Sharing Center Food Bank in Cherokee County.
