Wreath Making

Learn to make decorative holiday wreaths for free with supplies provided by the Folk School. The wreaths created will be used to beautify the Folk School during the holiday season.

Fireside Sale

Shop for one-of-a-kind gifts in our beautifully decorated Keith House and Davidson Hall (next to the Craft Shop). Craftspeople will offer handmade items such as jewelry, weaving, forged iron, photography, quilts and turned wood.

Be sure to visit the Craft Shop, offering 15% off all items from November 24 to December 23.

Bean Sidhe Holiday Concert

Christmas Songs & Celtic tunes.
Bean Sidhe (pronounced: ban-shee) began as a means for members to explore the connections linking traditional music from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales with its contemporary American counterparts, especially in the bluegrass, country, and folk genres.
The band currently has four members: David Russell, guitar, banjo, Irish bouzouki, and mandolin; Amanda Burts plays recorder and accordion; Ralph Murphy, who is a classically trained baritone, sings, plays bodhran (Irish drum) and guitar; and rounding out the group is Karin Lyle, a professional musician from Waynesville, plays harp and violin.

A Christmas Carol 2017

In period costume, Bob Grove will present a dramatic reading of the classic tale, including character voices. In the familiar story, miser Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future who, in the course of a night, convince him to abandon his "bah, humbug" ways.

Brasstown Ringers Holiday Concert

Brasstown Ringers, the community handbell group of western North Carolina and north Georgia continues to challenge its ringers and its audiences with new and exciting music, as well as old favorites.

Holiday Kids' Party 2017

Saturday December 16, 2016 s the Kids' Party (1-3pm)! Be sure to come over to the Folk School for the fun. The Holiday Kids' Party will have music, dancing, activities, a visit from Santa and best of all, home made gingerbread cookies!
